Lets talk about Kitchen DooDads. The kitchen is usually the central hub to any home. Therefore, it is where stories are shared, delicious meals are prepared, and family members gather with friends. We gather around the table to socialize. Many social activities involve eating – right? It is a big part of our lives. Therefore, keeping an organized, well stocked kitchen, with the right Kitchen DooDads can make life easier and most enjoyable. After all, we spend a lot of time in our kitchens.
For that reason, having the right products, appliances and kitchen gadgets is essential to any kitchen space. Sometimes it is difficult to locate some of these invaluable items. Yet they each fill a unique need for your task at hand. Likewise each piece is designed to help you enjoy spending more time in your kitchen.
Are you ready to see what I consider kitchen essentials? I’m telling you; I have most of these in my kitchen. The cool thing is . . . you can find them all right here in one convenient place. It took me quite a while to locate a couple of the gadgets that I use most often.

Both of our kids had a stainless-steel kitchen doodad adjustable dish drying rack/drainer for their kitchen sinks. I didn’t know I wanted one until I used theirs. Here at the lake house, I have VERY limited counter-top space. I have some kitchen items I don’t run thru the dishwasher, I’ll bet you do too. My utensils with wooden handles. For several reasons . . . I’ll add a little paragraph further down this page for that nightmare! Nevertheless – some things won’t fit into my dishwasher; some can’t take the heat of the dry cycle and I don’t always remember to click that option “off”.

So. . . now I’m a BIG believer in; if I like it in my kitchen and feel like I couldn’t operate without it, would it not make a wonderful gift for others? Newly married couples are sometimes on a limited budget and wouldn’t ordinarily purchase some of these things I consider essential. Another example, I have many sewing friends who enjoy embroidering on dish towels and aprons. Then, A mini table vacuum! (When Bruce leaves the table, it looks like a two-year-old sat there. Of course, I NEVER leave a mess where I sit. My mess is usually down the front of my shirt.)

I had a color choice, and I can adjust it to fit my sink. When we do our canning I even use it for my produce. I can sit hot items from the oven or stove top directly on it. About my utensils with wooden handles; sharp knives come to mind. One of my younger sisters told me that our forks, knives, and spoons should be placed in the dishwasher handle down. She explained why. It made sense to me. So, I did it and I still do it (except for the sharp knives.) Yep, I reached for a handful of silverware to put away and ran the knife blade clear to the bone. Now they are hand washed and dry on the Drying Rack!
